SML Bags

Inspiration and creation of SML Bags

I’ve had the hardest time getting back down to earth after the fun Memorial day weekend we had. Perhaps it’s the short week, perhaps I’m excited about our upcoming trip to Denver, or I’m nervous about my new line launching soon…I don’t know. Anyway, this week I worked on a big wholesale order for Australia and some custom orders- see above.

Be sure to follow my new line of bags on Facebook and happy Friday!

We’re back home after a wonderful weekend upstate in the Catskills. Our dear friends rented out a giant barn in the mountains for the weekend and had a wonderful wedding. Seriously, my hubby and I have never cried that hard at any wedding! It was perfect and the scenery was beautiful.

Now, back to work! I’m working on a big wholesale order that’s shipping out to Australia and several custom orders! I’m also expecting some other final samples for my new line this week, Shana Luther Handbags. Be sure to follow that new endeavor on my FaceBook page

I went to see Jack White at Roseland last night with the hubby and a group of friends and, no surprise, I was blown away! Jack nailed it and I was so excited to hear him play two of my favorite (although more obscure) Stripes songs, Hello Operator and Ball and Biscuit. I didn’t even bother trying to take more photos, I just wanted to enjoy the show. He really is amazing and I believe Mr. White will be around for a while. He’s way too talented to fall into the rock n roll shadows..

This weekend was awesome! The hubby and I threw a wedding shower for our two dear friends that pleasantly went into the late evening. Like everyone else and their doggies, we had tickets to Googa Mooga on Sunday and had a ball. Highlights for me, spending the time with our friends and watching Lez Zepplin, an all female Led Zepplin cover band. Seeing those ladies play again is definitely on my list of things to do this Summer.

I wore a new sample from my new line of bags, the Marie Clutch in coral leather. This clutch proved to be perfect size for the day. Be sure to follow me on Facebook to stay up to date on the new line I’ve designed!

This week has been bananas and I have really not had time to post. Here’s another great behind the scenes shot that I took this past Saturday from my handbag photo shoot. Launch to come soon so be sure to follow me on Facebook! Again, huge thank you to all the wonderful ladies who helped me out. Carey did such a great job with the photos!
I’m spending the rest of the week getting ready for a wedding shower that my husband and I are hosting this Saturday. Cupcakes, egg boats, doughnuts, bloody mary’s, oh my! Happy weekend!

This week I worked on several custom orders and this one turned out to be one of my favorites. My customer wanted a detachable chain strap on a bubble leather clutch and I think this turned out great! Someday, when I have the time, I’ll make one for myself. Until then, I live with the cute photos….

The photo shoot for my new line will be tomorrow and thank my lucky stars, it should be perfect weather! Check back soon for some behind the scenes shots of the photo shoot!

Hermes Handbags

This is a great post on the iconic brand, Hermes and I had to share. I’m not one of those girls who goes head over heels over Hermes, however, I definitely appreciate the amazing craftsmanship that goes into the making of the handbags. The fact that it takes 48 hours to produce a Birkin bag just proves how much care is taken in the production process. The final result is pure quality and it’s no wonder that these bags are classics.

My first samples are in! I picked them up today at my manufacturer and I could not be more pleased! The best part, I ordered one for myself so I can actually start carrying one, finally. This has always been a goal of mine and I’m so happy to finally see all of my designs as actual products. The photo shoot will take place this Saturday and I can’t wait to see how they turn out. My good friend, Carey, is taking the shots and knowing her talent they will be amazing.
